Great Meeting (Tech)

Tonight I had a splendid time meeting with the Tech leaders! I’m truly blessed to be able to work with this group of leaders! Our meeting is filled with laugher and fun at all time! These ladies are so well equipped and come so prepared for the meet that we just fall into place with our own job function! It’s really cool and makes my job so much easier and enjoyable! We were able to accomplished more than what I’ve expected to accomplished tonight!

Usually meetings are filled with serious discussion on what to do and lots of brain juice being squeeze until everyone is so stress up! Well, meetings are mean to be serious because you need to get work done ah… BUT this is such a different meet.

Our meeting is like a girl’s night out lah! As it was so fun and doesn’t feel like it’s a meeting at all! BUT we got tremendous work done! Never been to a meeting that is so fun leh? Well… I found one tonight! It was relaxing, at easy BUT was a meeting that is powerful!

Thank you CL, CS, SF & TW for your time, partnership, fun and most of all your TEAM spirit is very evidence! Merry Christmas!

My Buddy...

Need a friend? One who is there no matter how ugly, bad, crazy you are? Accept you as who you are? Support you even tho’ your plans are absurd?!! Takes good care of you when you are sick… Remind you to eat properly, drink water and even to eat lunch? Not only that, even remind you of your appointments! Push you to do things that you don’t like BUT know that you have to get it done! MOST of all loves you the same no matter what you do or if you show bad temper, flare up, complains, grumble etc.

Ever wants a friend like that? Well!!! I’m blessed to have not only a friend like that BUT a Buddy, SF! =-D I can’t thank God enough, as He has granted me with a Buddy of such nature. Sometimes I feel like giving up in ministry or really fed-up with things, environment, career etc BUT she has been the one that stuck by me and encouraged me NOT to give up and to pursue on!

This is my Buddy

Who am I today is really a result of this friendship that I have with SF. It’s a HUGE blessing! Thru this friendship I’ve learned to be more patient, tolerating, taking ministry seriously and to the heart, caring for others, be more details etc. This friendship has definitely enhanced my leadership as well.

This blog is a tribute to my Buddy, SF! Thank you for being there for me in times of needs and also supporting me when others didn’t believe in me! Your friendship has truly been inspiring to me and I will continue to do more for the Kingdom. Thank you for being my Buddy and Love you! Merry Christmas! You are the best Christmas gift that I can ever ask for.

Thank you, Buddy!

Hearts...

Well when people talk about “heart” it’s usually refer to love. It’s NOT wrong to refer to love BUT it’s your love for what? When we put our hearts to doing things it will bring success. Because with the right heart condition one will pursue tho’ it’s hard, one will be able to exercise patient as well as is NOT calculative in who is doing more or if I’m giving out more when we place our hearts in doing it.

This is so so true and important to know in any relationship that we engaged ourselves into or ministries or even our career! I’m blessed with so many people of such heart condition around me! They are SF, BT, JP, JL, DD, SL and many more that I can’t think of as of now. I can’t thank God enough for people like them. They have really built me in many many ways!

Our heart conditions are so so important as its stated in Luke 6:43-45, it’s out of the heart what the mouth speaks. This phase not only refer to what is being ulter BUT it also comes with our actionshow we carry ourselves, our attitudes towards one another, how we respond to situation etc. All these will speak of our heart conditions. It’s so scary isn’t it?

Even our recent mission trip to Philippine, a lot was said about the heart conditions. If one doesn’t carry the ministry with their hearts, the ministry will not be successful or impacting. We did well in the Philippine is because each one of us fully put our whole heart in doing our BEST for the Lord and want so much to ensure that God’s Name is glorified. It is this kind of heart condition that makes a ministry stands out from others!

So we really need to be on guard as to how we carry ourselves what we speak, how we act, how we carry out our serving etc. Else we can’t be the light for Christ! Be blessed and be a light house for Christ! Merry Christmas!

Proud Leader

Hi! Sorry for not blogging for like a SUPER DUPER long time! Things have just been crazy in my life! Crazy is for gooood ya? NOT bad! :-) God has been great thru out and is incredible!

I’ve just just returned from a mission trip to Philippine and it was tremendous! Now.. still have slight hang over from the mission trip… Before the trip there were much preparation that we need to look into that is the practice for the worship songs and also the Spiritual status of the team that is going there.

All together we had about 53 members young and old that when for this mission trip. If am not wrong I think this mission trip is one and only International mission trip that contain so many people! In GCC history that is…Well… truly going out as a team we saw the ONE TEAM spirit! It’s something that I can’t ulter in words BUT when I went out I felt as if the whole church was with me! It’s really cool!

Tech Team in the Mission Trip

Let me share of how SUPER proud I’m of the Tech Team that went with me and also those at home! (Those at home you are not miss ok…). I went to this mission carrying the TEAM as a whole in my heart! You know the testing of any Team’s knowledge, ability, team dynamic and connectivity is when we go out like this. We are on unfamiliar ground, using equipments that is not familiar to us, environment (people, culture, language is so different) and other factors as well. All these are tested and I must say the Team PASS with an A+ of all those I mentioned. Ultimately I believe it was the grace of God and our willing heart to be stirred and used by Him! That’s why it was such an impacted.

It was a HUGE comfort to know that we have a team at home praying for us as well as moving together with us in the Spiritual realm so that’s why there was such huge success! We were able to pull thru what happened in the mission trip is because of YOU all that is at home!

Thank you TEAM! I’m truly proud of you! Each and every one of you has built me to be who I’m today and I thank you for that privilege! Let’s us continue to upgrade ourselves in all level and raise the standard of the House to Glorify God’s Name to the fullest with what we do BEST – TECH TEAM!

China has proved herself...

Sorry for not blogging for awhile again….

China has just proved herself to the world of her ability to delivery to the world a higher standard of performance with MAN power! I’ve been so impressed with the recent opening of the Olympic which is held in Beijing, China this year.

China is known for its man power, they have lots of people and its population is the highest in the world! This Olympic they really showed the world that with man power they can do almost all and perform it better than any newest technologies available! Very impressive!

I only managed to watch the re-run as I had some activities on when the opening was happening! Still I didn’t miss much as we have re-run in Astro! Thank you Astro for that!

Before this the world has actually doubt whether China is able to pull it off with so many set back on their side. Well, they have proved to the world who they are and that being a Chinese they are able to whether thru anything!

This has encouraged me much as it shows that others might not belief in us or have confident in us BUT if we have the will and is willing to preserve no matter what we too will be able to make it and proved to the world what we can do with the strength of God! With God we will be able to weather thru trials and problems easier and more victorious! So be encouraged if one can do it without God, we who have God can do even better and end up more successfully!

Go! Go! China! And enjoy this year’s Olympic!

Correction is hard work...

Discipline or correction is a word that is not nice to me! Most of you would think that this is an easy job for me to carry out…. Well I must tell you I don’t like to do this or hate to do this to be more precise! As a leader we are to correct those under us when we (leaders) see that something is not right in our members.

It’s hard! Each time I need to do this my heart would pump like mad! BUT why I still do it, you may asked… I do it because I understand this principal of stated in Heb 12:5-11:-

1) Because of love – if you don’t care about that person you will not give a damn to why you need to correct he/she ya… It is because I care and would like to see them elevate to their potential that’s why I do it.

2) To protect others – correction can be done to one member so that the rest of the group or pack will not be contaminated. I guard my people closely.

3) Knowing that it will bring benefit to that person – able to place the person on the right track towards a successful life or their destiny.

It is because of the above that it pushes me to correct or discipline. It gets harder when your care or love for that person increases (this is especially so for parents, I belief) BUT I guess it’s a must!

Before I do it I will always check myself first! We shall correct/discipline with the right mindset and heart condition. Our correction towards others should never be vengeful or for personal benefit!

So, know that discipline is never comfortable to both party – the one that correct and the one that is receiving correction. Hai…. Hard TASK! :-(

2008 Half year...

GOSH!!! The times really fly by this year! Without realizing there goes half a year! So I took some time in reflecting what had happen and what I’ve done the first half of the year? At first I thought nothing really much happened…. Hee hee.. as I didn’t realize ah… I’ve just been handling things as they come along my way!!!!

As I reflect I realized that I’ve definitely grown and matured very much spiritually! It SUPER LLLOOOTS that is! I Praise God for how He has allowed me to grow in this manner and of course am honor to be able to grow and got to know more of Him. It had not been easy as He really stretch me in many ways. He has stretched me in my spiritual growth, ministry, career, family responsibilities, and my leadership style, skills and approach.

One major thing that God did in my live is the shift of my attention to building and passing on what I have to the next generation. These came very strong at the end of February 2008. I didn’t know much or what I could give to the next generation as I felt that I’m still at the stage of learning! Well, God works differently….. Today I’m proud to say that I’m a part of building the next generation and I’m TRULY enjoying it! By doing so I realized that I’ve grown a lot! It is all those late nights of pen-ing down what I’ve inside me to pass down to the next generation that have caused much growth in me. So, I do encourage ALL of you to be involved in teaching! Because in order for you to teach you will first have to know the area well enough, even if you don’t, by having an opportunity to teach it will push you to know the area better!

I now realized that I’ve been keeping much store in me and not releasing enough. By not releasing NOTHING new can be filled into my life. It’s just like a hard disk; it has a limited amount of capacity. If we need to install new software into it, we will first need to uninstall the old version first. Our life is exactly as such, if we don’t allow the old to be release in us, we won’t be upgraded lor…

I’m excited for the coming next half year! As I do believe it will be as fulfilling as the first half of the year for me! Here I would like to give all glory and honor to God for how He has used me in many areas! I’m honored to be used! Thank you Lord Jesus! Wouldn’t have been able to accomplished so much without You. Jesus, You are the BEST!!

Another Achievement

GCC’s D’ Next Generation Dinner has just finished and I’m very very honored to be given a chance to serve in such a huge event which is first of its kind in the city of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Let me explain to those of you who do not know what the event is about. The event is to raise fund to build the Next Generation for the Future! It is held in Magellan Sutera which house 100 tables for a night of dinner and program. The 100 tables consist of NOT our church members but mostly outsider and not church goers. Think our member only make out about 30% of the night’s event.

I’m even more honor to be able to work with such a SUPERB support team which is the GCC Tech TEAM! Again they did it and brought the highest standard of support that anyone can utter. This is the first ever major event for the TEAM to be involved in which is away from the comfort of our home ground.

It was an extremely challenging ground for our TEAM because we had to work with a totally new environment, equipment that we had never used or even tried before and housing a presentation for 1,000 people on a totally new ground! GOSH!!! You should look at the amount of stress that the TEAM had to cater with!

In the mist of such a STRESS and stretching time I see how the TEAM pull themselves together by being there, supporting, encouraging and putting their hearts together for one purpose! That is to ensure that God’s Name is glorified! Because of that God really moves and much grace, unity, peace, joy and strength were evident in the TEAM members life! The TEAM made the best of every situation.

It was indeed a huge exposure for the TEAM and from this event I know we, the TEAM is ready for more of event away from the comfort of our home, GCC Main Auditorium =-) We have definitely step out of our comfort zone as a TEAM. And because we step out as a TEAM together we were able to achieve the success at a greater measure!

Thank you TEAM once again! I’m very very proud of each and every one of you gals and guys! You are the BEST TEAM that I can ever ask for to partner and work with! Thank you! You have made the difference!

Have Good People Around You

The week ahead would be very stretching for me! As my days are like SUPER pack! Every day is filled! NOT to mention a HUGE and IMPORTANT event is coming up in church and I’m very much involved in it.

The event has given me much stress until I had chest pain last week! I’ve calm down a lot today (17 Jun) already. How did I do that? I realized that I’m able to do this is because I’m blessed with very good people around me! This is so important! I was very stress until I had a tiny accident at home where I de-rail my gate by ramming my car into it! Gosh! I was a bit blur blur and was not functioning well for the past week.

However the same day that I ram my car into my house gate I meet up with my immediate family in Christ and they really lifted my Spirit! From that short time spend with them (shopping at 1 Borneo) have really enlighten me and charged up my Spirit! I had much fun and relaxing time with them as I can be myself!

When you are discourage, down, stress out is good to have a group or someone that you can turn to. But they have to be people who can lift you up and are positive. Engage yourself with good people, people that can:

1) Lift you up when you are down,
2) Care and concern about your well being, and
3) Add value to your personal character.

It was from this little walk with them that has reminded me why I need to work so hard especially so to build the Kingdom! Thanx gals and guys that went shopping with me at 1 Borneo the other day! You know who you are and I really treasure each one of you close to my heart! :-)

My Immediate Family in Christ

Today during my devotion I’m reminded of the BIG family that I have as I accepted Christ as my Savior. Since the aged of 4 I’ve always wanted a younger brother or sister and have asked for one from my parents…. BUT! Of course I never got one as I’m still the only child until today :-) I gave up asking at the aged of 14 as I realize that my parents are too old to have any more babies already.

So since the aged of 4 there was the missing link in my life – a bro or a sis. Always searching and actually had no more hope at the aged of 14. So was pretty sad during my teenage years and from there I turn to making friends. But friends are NOT bro or sis as they will not standby you or come when you need help…. I was hurt and betrayed by my friends many times. NO fulfillment!

However, when I accepted Christ as my Savior it came along with a huge family! And these bro and sis are here to stay! Really a family! Just a phone call and my bro and sis will come running to help/assist! Even at times don’t call also they will come! =-D 1 John 3:1 – said that we are called Children of God, so we are link to a family because of God. And not only that this family is the one that will build us to be whom God wants us to be! – 1 John 3:2.

I’m really blessed with an immediate Christ family as shown above! These are the people who are building me to be whom God wants me to be. Of course the photo is not the complete immediate family of mine – some are missing as were not able to make it to the trip.

Here I would like to thank each one of them for being part of my life and building me to be who I’m supposed to be. Without you my dream of having brothers and sisters will never be fulfilled! I’ve indeed been blessed by you in many many different ways! Thank you!!!

Good Leaders....

Sorry for not blogging for a long time again…. God has just been stretching me like mad!!! Any how I will do my best to keep this blog going. I’ve much to blog BUT just don’t have the time to sit down to type it out. Will do my BEST ya..

I just can’t help to blog this and is squeezing my time to do this. Throughout this month I’ve been juggling between my business and ministry and its really challenging BELIEVE me! I cannot neglate my ministry at all because that is what God has given me (an opportunity to serve Him). I’ve learned the following has been very real in my life, some essence of a good leader:-

1) Realize that the people under us are NOT our BUT they belong to God and is God’s people.
2) We lead out of eagerness to serve Him NOT because we are obligated to.
3) When we lead, we are NOT concern of what we will get from these people BUT are more of what we can give.
4) Being a good leader mean we lead by example NOT by force.

Being a leader is never easy BUT hey, if we look at it from the above point of view, it might be easier to carry out ya…

My JOY my PRIDE!!!

Oh… u might be asking what’s Angela’s joy ah? And er… pride?!! Aiya… PRIDE! Not a good word that means arrogant, boastful, “pai fon” etc! Well! I must say it is my JOY and my PRIDE when I talk about my CGs.

My CGs is my JOY and my PRIDE. It has brought me lots of blessing, growth and encouragement! Tell you! There is no other better place to find that encouragement or boaster you need in life from CG! I’m really proud of all 3 of my CGs! NOT to mention I have very good leaders too! Ok! Ok… you members are also super good people! “-) PROUD is not necessary a bad word k?

To me CG is a life building station. Here is where you see life after life being transformed to be more like Christ! Needless to say modeling after you too! That’s a tall task for us leaders! My CGs is always filled with lots of fun, laughter, loud and good companion! Mind you for those of you who have not been to CGs, CG is NOT boring!

Every CG we have lots and lots of fun with one another and fun learning the Word of God too. Is NOT a bible study group k? It’s a family! Here we reach out to one another with care, support and love too! You see… care speaks louder than any words that we utter!

Without each and every one of you guys and gals I will not be who I’m today. I’m the result of your molding, stretching and building! I must THANK YOU all for building my life as who you are! I’ve learned a lot from each and every one of you thus making me a better person (er… still a long way to be the BEST but striving to get there ya…). Thank you for giving me an opportunity to get to know you and be part of your life.

See how happy everyone is! Its ALL smiles!

I cannot be more joyous and proud to have Y-O-U (all CG members) in my life!

Bible Showdown - Ezra

How is your Bible showdown reading coming along? This book has been very very interesting to me. That is EZRA!

From Ezra there is one thing that really sticks to my head! That is Ezra was a man who:-
1) Study the Word diligently,
2) Apply it into his own life and obey it closely, and
3) He teaches the Word – He doesn’t simply teach BUT he teaches until the person’s stature and ordinance is built.

This can be found in Ezra 7:10. A lot of us have been receiving from God by reading the Word, Sharing of the Word by leaders, Sermon etc. BUT most of us only park it in our head and doesn’t really allow it to sink down into our Spirit and implement it into our lives. Its so important to allow what we have receive to be applied else its just a waste of everybody’s effort.

As leaders, we are given a chance to teach or impart. Let us raise the standard of teaching and imparting until that we are able to build the stature of those that we come in contact with. Not only stature BUT also obedience (remember I’ve written a blog on this Obedience is more important) towards the things of God. Such a HUGE responsibilities as a leader BUT God will add on into our lives even more when we raise our standard! So go CHARGE leaders!

Long Delay...

So sorry for not blogging for like months! Lots have happened since I last blog. My Mom has gotten back to be her own self again (that is including gain back her weight). I however, have not gotten back to myself at all after my Mom’s fall.

God has really been stretching me and moving me on since I last blog. New venture has come along (LOTs of them that is) and new responsibilities as well. God has added and bless me much in my life since I’ve come back to Him in 1996 and He had been bugging me since beginning of March to build the next generation and ensure that what He has built in me is pass on! Meaning that the next generation can carry on with what He has already started in me, just take the platform of where I left and MOVE on strong!

During this time I have struggle much because I didn’t know what to do or where to find that next generation so that I can past on to? For CL, I know you have plenty of them! I looked around er…. EMPTY!! I’m empty that is… and what have I to past on? This urgency got intense as March comes to an end until I was only getting SUPER little rest in a day… However, during this time I find myself grown a lot in my intimacy with God! Spiritually and stature as well have grown MUCH! I’m so thankful to God for that…. BUT that also mean I will have to work harder to ensure that things are passed on….

The days ahead will be very exciting and I will try my best to blog more often ya… I thank you for your support to my blog! Will try me BEST to keep it updated ya…

Trauma to the Head

With what I’ve been through with my Mum situation I’ve learned a lot and will blog it here and hope that it will be of help to you if such situation comes across your path.

If a person has hit their head observed if:-

1) Unconscious – if the person black out it means that the brain had a very bad shaking.
2) Vomiting – this shows that our system is reacting to the shaking of our brain.
3) Numbness of legs or arms – this will usually be on one side. Not able to raise the hand or leg.
4) Slur of speech – if it had hit the bottom part of the head, it will cause some trauma to the speech part of the brain.
5) Bad headache – due to pressure of the bleeding to the brain.
6) Dizziness – that means something in the brain is imbalance already that’s why the dizziness comes.

If the person is experiencing anyone of these symptoms after the fall please please bring the person in for a scan to check if everything is okay or not. Think this symptom are also for a person who has a stroke. No harm to scan if there is nothing at least we know there is nothing. We can’t see from the outside, so the only way is thru a CT scan. So don’t take it lightly if the above symptoms persist!

PHEW!

Wow! It has been such a long time since I last blog! Sorry for the delay BUT a lot had happened since the last time that I blog. My Mum had been in and out of hospital and also underwent an operation to her head too! Shocking?!!! Hehe…

Okie… let me fill you in ya… My Mom had a fall and hit her head on the 27th December 2007. She was still ok after the fall but she started vomiting after about an hour and complains of bad headache. So I asked why she was vomiting? I didn’t know she had fallen. And she said maybe it was due to lunch… so I gave her some 100 Plus to drink and her vomiting stop! So I didn’t think of it much.

Then the next morning she was fine and started to do some house work. I got asked her if there is a need for her to see a doctor, she said “no need, it’s ok, will just take it easy”. So didn’t think much of it as after food poisoning sure tires one. The next day which was a Saturday we had a wedding to attend in the morning BUT she said she is not that well so we decided not to attend the wedding and I when for worship practice. After practice I got home and found Mom slur in her speech. Meaning she cannot pronounce a single word properly!

I got worried and called a Dr friend of mine and asked what should I do and her advise was to bring her in the Emergency at QE immediately. So I did just that, even tho’ Mum still insist she is “ok”. Beside the slur of speech everything else was perfectly fine! So the doctors did a scan and found that there was indeed some bleeding and it was quiet a massive one too! Gosh! That was a shocker BUT was happy that I brought her in. The doctors when thru her medication and found that she was on aspirin which was an agent to help dilute the blood, for this case it’s NOT good! The doctors stopped this medication immediately.

The next day morning Mom was able to speak word for word BUT still slow. By afternoon she was chit chatting with my aunties and uncles! J So she was discharge after that with an instruction from the doctor that if her condition deteriorates we must bring her back in immediately.

After 4 days at home, Mum condition become worst where she didn’t even have the strength to walk and had BAD stomach pain! No energy etc! So I called for an ambulance to bring Mum in (she was too heavy for us to move her hehe…). When admitted they did another scan and found that her brain has been pushed and pressed!

So they scheduled for an immediate operation to release the pressure so that it will not leave any permanent damaged to the brain. After the operation immediately Mum become alive and much herself tho’ weak! She was discharge a week after the operation. Mum is improving day by day BUT her speech is still slow.

I cannot say anything BUT Praise the Lord for His favor and mercy throughout! It was He who had caused the smooth operation and the quick respond of the doctors in the hospital. Beside that we had very good doctors (tho’ junior) that monitor every moment of Mum’s situation! It was indeed God who was there. Because after my Mum was discharge the very next day I heard of a close friend’s colleague who also had a fall and is not being treated and sent home! Gosh! What else can I say BUT all Glory to God!

God is the BEST! And ALL Glory to Him!
