I’m blogging this because of the above title that I find is so interesting...
Well, when we read “Holiday of No Return” our mind will wonder to wah… a wonderful holiday, must be really exciting until is at a point of no return, or just buying a one way ticket and go to a place of paradise… What else would come into your mind?
Holiday of No Return is an experienced that my uncle had recently. What the heck am I talking about? Or am I trying to get at? Well, my uncle when for a very joyful holiday in Australia (to my other uncle’s place, well I come from a huge family that’s why so many uncles haha…). Nothing is wrong in going for a wonderful holiday that was requested by my uncle right? So his daughter purchased the ticket upon his request and within 3 weeks they are there in Australia. Fast transaction ya?
Ask and you shall receive? No! Well I certainly don’t want this holiday!
Basically this is what happened to my uncle, he asked to go on holiday to a few places which his daughter have already purchase the plane ticket, that is to Korea, Taiwan and Australia. So Australia was their first stop… Why? You would ask that the daughter acted so fast in purchasing all those ticket and travel arrangement? What’s the big deal of me telling you all this?
Because before this, my this particular uncle didn’t want to travel or even wants to go out from his house for a walk because he was suffering from Alzheimer which cause his mood to go up and down. Well, most of the time he is in a bad mood. But since the daughter have bring him around and purchased this ticket he had been very joyous and positive.
So Australia was his first stop for his spree of holiday! But it is here that he had experienced his Holiday of No Return! So what it is? My uncle passed in his sleep during this holiday! SHOCKER!!! He was so happy and joyous because he was on holiday, but then he said he feels tire, so he when to bed. Normal!! If you are tire go to bed! Well, that was his last words, “I’m tire, I don’t want to go out, I want to rest…” So nobody gave much thought to it.
It is indeed sad to have lost an uncle, one who had taught me so much in calculation and business. He was an uncle whose shop I would hang out during my primary school years and he taught me to use those Chinese calculators “shun pan”. He allowed me to be a cashier at his shop when I was at the aged of 8 onwards. He gave me confident in dealing with money and learned about the value of money. Most importantly he gave me a taste of what business is liked at such a young aged. I guess that’s where I was inspired to start my own business today.
Bye bye uncle we will all miss you BUT looking at the bright side he died in the most joyous and blessed way! He was on holiday man!!! The happiest time of his life! I too wish and pray for such peaceful and joyous death.
My condolence goes out to my uncle’s family.
